Yelp and similar platforms work on discovery-by-search: someone has to already be looking for a business like yours. That's valuable, but it misses the much larger group of nearby people who aren't actively searching — they just haven't thought of you yet.

The gap review platforms leave open

Passive discovery only captures demand that already exists. It does nothing to create new demand among people nearby who would visit if they simply knew you were there.

A more active approach

Using both together

Review platforms and active hyperlocal advertising aren't competitors — they solve different problems. One captures existing demand; the other creates new awareness among people who haven't searched yet.
